Accessibility statement

Everyone should be able to read, pray, and listen on this site, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification, or reduced motion. This page says what we aim for, what we have done, and where we fall short. Last updated October 1, 2026.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. We have not had an outside audit, so we do not claim full conformance.

What we have done so far

We test our main pages and a growing share of the rest. These are the checks that have passed on the pages we have tested:

  • A skip link is the first stop when you press Tab on the pages we tested.
  • Those pages have a language set, one main landmark, and headings in order. Arabic pages read right to left.
  • Links and buttons show a visible focus outline. Footer links, language links, and form checkboxes meet the 24 pixel minimum target size.
  • On the pages we tested, content fits a 320 pixel wide screen without sideways scrolling and stays readable with larger text spacing.
  • If your device asks for reduced motion, we turn off animations.
  • The audio player announces whether it is playing or paused to screen readers.
  • We are adding automated WCAG 2.2 AA checks for every public page, and we are working through the pages it flags.

Known limits

  • Embedded YouTube videos use YouTube's own player. We cannot change its controls, and some of its buttons are not fully labeled for screen readers. Each embedded video has a title that says what it shows.
  • Our own narrated story videos do not have captions yet. We are adding them.
  • Automated checks find only some problems. We have not yet finished testing with screen readers such as VoiceOver and NVDA, so some problems may remain.
  • Pages in languages other than English are still being checked, and the same improvements are being carried across.
