Letters

Read source-attributed summaries of historical cases and ministry-published personal accounts. We distinguish Church-recognized healings from personal reports. Letters sent by readers appear separately after human editorial review.

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of the testimony…"

Revelation 12:11 (Douay-Rheims), first part of the verse

Scripture puts testimony in the same sentence as the blood of the Lamb. That is how much a testimony matters, and why every Letter is read with care.

Letters from around the world

Saint Charbel is prayed to on every continent. Turn the globe and tap a flag to see whose letters come from there.

Drag to turn the globe. Tap a flag.

All 100 countries

Yugoslavia and Zaire are former countries, and the list does not say which Congo it means, so those three show without a flag.

The 99 countries named in the letters published by saintcharbel.net.au, plus Canada and the letters on this page.

What are the Letters?

People have long written to Saint Charbel. They write to the monastery at Annaya, where he is buried, in many languages. Some send thanks for a prayer they believe was answered. Some ask him to pray for a sick child, a marriage, or a country at war. Some ask for a little blessed oil to carry to someone who cannot travel.

We call these Letters because that is what they are: one person speaking plainly to a saint. They are not reviews, and they are not medical records.

What a Letter does and does not say

A Letter is one person's account in their own words. It tells you what happened and what they believe about it. It cannot prove a healing. The Church studies cases separately, and only a few are formally recognized. Here we keep the two apart. Source-published accounts carry their source, and letters from readers appear only after a person has read them.

Countries named in the published list

The ministry at saintcharbel.net.au publishes a list of the countries that letters to the monastery have come from, from Lebanon to Argentina, Japan, Nigeria and Norway. We show the 99 names on that list below, plus Canada, which we added because letters come from there too. It is their list, not our count, and we have not checked it ourselves.

Flags: flag-icons project, MIT license. Yugoslavia and Zaire are former countries, and the list does not say which Congo it means, so those three show without a flag.

Reader letters appear here after editorial review. They are not medical verification or official Church recognition.
